Snow Day in Georgia

It's a snowy day in Georgia. I like the snow for a little while. I went and walked at the golf course this morning. I remember when I was young, me and my sis would make snow ice cream. Soooo good. There was just something about eating that snow. What are some of your memories of snow days? Feel free to share them.

Thinking Back

My children were born at 29 weeks. It was a long hard road. I had to learn to do things I never thought I would do. I learned all about heart monitors, brain bleeds, lungs, physical, occupational therapy, and so much more. The first year of my twins life consisted of numerous doctor appointments. One particular time I had to take them to a eye doctor. Preemies can have so many problems with their eyes. When the doctor checks them, they use a tool to keep their little eyes open so they can check their eyes. My little ones were screaming at the top of their lungs and it was so hard on me to hear them cry.  I found out that it was not painful, just scary for them.
I am a Gram to two fine little boys. They have brought such joy to my life. My oldest grandson was diagnosed with the flu two weeks ago. He is over that, finally. I get a call from his mama yesterday and he has the pink eye. Poor little guy. Can you guess the medicine they prescribed.. antibiotics, cough, and eye drops for itching. Do you have any idea how terrifying this was for my two and half year old grandbaby?
I am going over and putting drops in his eyes. What I know is, all that I went through with mine was not for nothing. I knew he needed the drops to make him better. A Gram has to do, what a Gram has to do. I love you little fellow.

Sisters

This picture was taken many years ago of me and my sister. It's funny how you forget things and one picture brings back so many memories. I had forgot about the train that I was sitting upon. I loved dolls as you can tell. My hair was short, I had gotten to close to a heater we had in our living room and burned it. I eventually let my hair grow out. As children we bicker back and forth and me and my sister had our share of that, but you have to remember we were kids. I am so thankful for the pictures I do have and continue to take of things I love. Don't ever take people in your life for granted.

Frozen in Time

In Georgia, this year we've had record low temperatures. Seven to nine degrees. Are you getting cold yet? In the South we are not use to this. Up North they are so prepared and ready because it is much colder there. So, today I wake up and there are flash flood warnings and buckets of rain being poured out on the land. Anytime I can I take pictures of unusual things I do. This week was one of them and I will share a pic from my children's grandmother's waterfall. Enjoy!
